Dumeril's boa basics

Dumeril boa babies are quite large, and can be started feeding on hoppers on small adult mice. They should be kept individually. Although not common, there have been sporadic reports of cannibalism among these snakes, so as the saying goes, it is better to be safe than sorry. Besides preventing this potential disaster, baby snakes kept separately will have less stress, will be easier to feed and keep track of.

Set up for keeping baby Dumerils is quite simple - a Rubbermaid storage container, heating tape on one end, a hiding spot and water bowl. The temperatures on the hot end should be kept at 90 to 95 F, and cool end at around 80.
